Jamie Feild Baker
Director of Strategic Partnerships

Jamie Feild Baker has worked with school leaders, boards, and teachers over the last ten years to help them define and adapt to the highly digital, social, global, fast-paced environment that is the often referred to as The New Normal. Her work has largely been based in two areas: helping schools develop a shared vision for what is necessary to offer the best relevant preparation for their students, and creating learning plans to help the adults in schools learn, grow, and transform their teaching assumptions and practices.

Jamie earned a BSFS from Georgetown Universityʼs Walsh School of Foreign Service with degrees in international economics and finance and holds a MA in Creative Non-Fiction Writing from The University of Memphis.

Prior to working with school leaders, Ms. Baker was a successful institutional salesman for numerous investment banking firms. In addition, she and her husband developed and operated for ten years a boutique hotel in downtown Memphis. An education crisis with their youngest child caused Jamie to begin to work with schools in considering how they are systemically adapting to the dynamic and ever-changing operating environment that affects all aspects of school management from financial operations to programs and curriculum. After years of studying what elements create a culture of innovation and a culture of inquiry, Ms. Baker became highly sought after by school leaders to work with their leadership teams and school cultures.

Jamie joins The Martin Institute for Teaching Excellence as its Director of Strategic Partnerships. She will be working with John Hunter and Chris Farina to develop resources and learning experiences to deepen and spread the impact of the film World Peace and Other 4th Grade Achievements and John’s thirty years of teaching. She will coordinate speaking engagements, film showings, and Master Class events.
